Our indoor discus hatchery generally covers an area of 7000 square feets, which consists of approximaxetly 1000 water tanks.
B. Water Storage
Water preservation is essential for raising discus. In our farm, 90 percent water is being changed twice a day to stimulate growth of our discus. This encouters around 15000 gallon of water being used. we have set up both fibre water tanks and concrete tanks to perform water changing.
To maximize cleanliness and to minimize man power, drainage channels and plumbing system are carefully designed to perform daily systematic water changing. In addition, every each of the tanks is labeled to maintain records of our discus.
D. Breeding Section
One of the things that make discus unique is very uncommonly they will leave current partner for other discus. The 'married couple' are placed in the breeding area to begin spawning purpose.
To ensure our discus stay healthy, whenever new discus being imported to our farm or we exporting discus from our farm, they will be isolated in a a separate quarantine section to undergo observation for at least 14 days. Sick discus will be detained for further quarantine. We ensure only heatlhy discus will be discharged from this section to our customers.
IDF takes serious on packing process. In most cases, each discus fish ready for export is placed in a two layer tower-shape plastic bag with oxygen filled for at least 48 hours. We use styrofoam box as a container. Here, we also add in special additive into the water to help preserve water condition which inturn relieve fish stress. In sum, we keen to ensure every single discus delivered to our customers is alive and healthy.
